Perjuangan Orang Asal
Orang Bandar, eat your heart out. Here comes Orang Asal with their own music video!
Orang Asal are the indigenous people of Malaysia, and the most overlooked community (imagine the fact that the man labels them "dan lain lain"). So them decided enuff znuff and established "Jaringan Orang Asal Se-Malaysia" to protect their rights.

Google Chrome

So Google launches Google Chrome (BETA), and hopefully it won't cause too much headache for web designers. I haven't had the chance to try it out myself, but this guy has.
Update: Apparently it doesn't work with Hotmail. Google does not like Microsoft or vice versa?
Giant Mechanical Spider!!!
So this French company, La Machine, thought it was awesome to hang a 50 foot long, 37 ton arachnid (dubbed La Princess) on a building, scheduled for demolition, in Liverpool. It'll stretch its legs out (doubling its size) and come to life early Friday morning. Garggh!

Rethinking the motorcycle

Extracted from Flylyf.com
Challenged to rethink motorcycle transportation, Art Center College of Design student Jake Loniak decided the idea of a machine as an extension of the body should be taken literally. Inspired by Biomechatronics and called the Deus Ex Machina, Loniak’s concept is an electric vertically parking motorcycle controlled by 36 pneumatic muscles with 2 linear actuators.
I find it rather freaky because a couple of weeks ago I had a dream about this (the concept, not the actual image). If it we're to be produce, it could possibly help solve our traffic problems (kinda).

This is really sweet - kinda makes you think about the amount of effort that went into making the whole thing. Heh.

Critical Failure!!

It takes a while to load, but trust me, it's worth it. Who would've thought the destruction of a website could be so fun!

The Shiznit...?
BigDog, designed by Boston Dynamics (with funding from US Defense) has created a very scary life-like dog-robot-killer-machine-destroyer.

Those Darn Pirates

Ah, trust Malaysian pirates to cover the Golden Triangle with Amir Muhammad's latest banned film, 'Apa Khabar Orang Kampung,' which is (in?)conveniently banned by the Malaysian Censorship Board - as indicated by on the back cover of the DVD!
The Amen Break
The most important 6-sec drum loop, explained in a meditative tract on vinyl. A fascinating discourse on copyright and the culture of sampling.

Chris Ware animation
After all the fun of the 12th Malaysian General Elections, it's time to get back to some form of normalcy in life. Check out this wonderful animation by Chris Ware (whose graphic novels I absolutely love) for This American Life.

Arcade Fire - Black Mirror Music Video / Website

Arcade Fire's music video (interactive website actually) for their song Black Mirror from their sophomore album, Neon Bible, is one inspiring concept (technologically and of course, musically). You can control (on/off) the tracks you want to hear eg. vocals, drums, guitars, backing vox etc.
The only weakness is that it takes patience to view the site (maybe due to the freaking slow internet connection available in Malaysia). Well, it was definitely worth the wait.

Skydiving From The Edge Of The World
On August 16, 1960, Joseph Kittinger jumped from Earth in a helium balloon called Exceisior III, doing so from an air-thin height of 102,800 feet (31,334 meters).
From that nearly 20 miles altitude, his tumble toward terra firma took some 4 minutes and 36 seconds. Exceeding the speed of sound during the fall, Kittinger used a small stabilizing chute before a larger, main parachute opened in the denser atmosphere. He safely touched down in barren New Mexico desert, 13 minutes 45 seconds after he vaulted into the void.
